What We Do As a charitable organization, Disaster Animal Response Team of Nova Scotia sets up and runs emergency animal shelters for your pets in times of disaster.
Disaster Animal Response Team of Nova Scotia is raising funds to have our trailer detailed. This trailer will haul all of shelter suplies, including cages and cleaning supplies. We have many ways you can donate, with Canadahelps.org being a quick and easy way to support us.

Looking to give back to your community or want to help animals and others. Like doing fundraising, meeting new people, learning new things; then you should contact our Membership Director at membership@dartns.org and see how you can become a member of the Disaster Animal Response Team of Nova Scotia today. Membership is FREE.

"FROM HARM TO HOME"
We welcome the following pets into our shelters:
- Cats
- Dogs
- Birds
- Reptiles
- Pocket Pets (rats/hamsters/gerbils etc)
Pets welcomed into our emergency animal shelter.
Since founded in 2008, we have provided emergency shelter care for over 1500 animals in need in the province of Nova Scotia. Each of these cherished family pets have gone safely from "Harm to Home", thanks to the efforts of our dedicated volunteers and the support of our partners and the community.
Donations
Thanks to your generour support, we have been able to achive our mission and continue to grow so we can help other families and their pets in times of disaster.
These kits are provided by DARTNS to those people who may have been evacuated from their home but will be staying with relatives or friends and may not have the necessary items needed to care for their companion animal. Click here to find out what items are needed to make these kits.

During Hurricane Fiona in 2022, DARTNS was activated to set up an emergency animal shelter and as part of our response program, Complete Care Hospital for Pets were on site to provide veterinary care to those pets in need.
